Summer Fun in Halifax!

Can you believe it, we are halfway through July ALREADY! 

School has become a distant memory; summer vacations are in full swing and memories are being made around campfires everywhere.  Looking for more ideas of summer fun? Here’s just a few more suggestions of some events happening around Halifax.  Most of which, are free!   

  1. Summer Concert Series at the Public Gardens. 
    This event has already started on June 16th and runs weekly on Sundays throughout the summer from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.  Best to arrive early to get the best seats to enjoy a variety of music.  A line up of performances can be found at  
  1. Halifax Pride Week. 
    Coming up this weekend, July 20th Halifax Pride Week begins!  The ever-popular pride parade being held at 1:00pm on July 20th is what most people consider the kick off to Pride Week!  The music, the colours and the diversity of this parade is the upmost fun for the whole family!   2. Halifax Busker Festival.
    Beginning on July 31st and running until August 5th, Halifax Busker Festival is FULL of entertainment on our ever changing, ever beautiful Halifax Waterfront.  From Contortionists to Pogo Stunts, Acrobatics to 3D Chalk Art, this Festival is sure to have something for everyone!  For a full list of events, please visit 
  1. Shakespeare by the Sea.
    Running daily from July 1st till Labour Day (except Mondays) at 7:00pm and occasionally at 1:00pm on the weekends, this group of talented actors and actresses hosts the largest outdoor summer theater festival east of Montreal at one of our most treasured land marks, Point Pleasant Park.     Happy Birthday Halifax-Dartmouth!!  Celebrating our cities 124th birthday from August 2nd to 5th.   There will be fireworks, a parade, road races, music and much, much more! For a full list of events and activities please visit   
  1. Ocean Beaches, Lake Beaches, Parks & Splash Pads
    Nova Scotia is TRULY Canada’s Ocean Playground! Within a 30 minute drive from just about anywhere in our city you can hit an ocean beach, a lake, or a splash pad to cool off in our summer heat!  Don’t forget to pack a lunch and lots of water and make a day out of sand castle building, jellyfish hunting, swimming or just taking in a good dose of vitamin D.  Some popular Nova Scotia beaches can be found at
